Wherever
you go throughout Australia, you'll be sure to find groups or
mobs of young kids having the time of their lives,
spinning and shaking to childrens dance music. Kids music has
evolved over many years, changing it's form almost entirely.
Traditional childrens dance music was quite
slow and often had accompanying lyrics that were sad or morbid
and sometimes downright mournful. Musicians and songwriters
used minor chords and dark language to tell tales of great mystery
and adventure. Modern childrens
dance music revolves solely around the idea of having fun.
Kids music artists these days play only major chords and sing
only
about bright, happy and colourul themes. These days the words
are secondary to a boppy beat and a catchy melody, but then again,
that's why we love childrens dance
music!
